The French are not afraid of pushing hard against tyranny, very hard! A cheap plastic yellow jacket will turn the most pacifist Parisian auto fuel consumer into a fire breathing King Kong.
The Macron mendacity which stirred this violence against the state? A 30 cent hike in the already ridiculously high diesel tax. Price per gallon for diesel in France is already a staggering Obama jealously inducing $7 a gallon, but it is priced per litre which seems somewhat cheaper to the non-scientific consumer.
With the amount of violence leveled against the government in France by the Mini-Macron Micro Fuel tax hike, the French Government should be thankful they did not raise the tax by 33 cents per gallon.
This would have provoked re institution of the guillotines and the streets and the Seine would have turned red with the blood of the current leaders of that proud republic.
Macron must remember it is easier for a people to get a new government than it is for a government to get a new people.
Will Macron stick to his guns for his global warming tax on fuels or will the yellow jackets get to keep their 8 cents per litre to buy wine and cheese?
Macron will fold in my estimation and raise taxes on the pensioners in France to make up the short fall for the elderly are not as able to get out in mass and riot. Wheelchairs and walkers are easy targets for water cannons and therefore tax increases.
